Owning a bookstore has long been a dream for this mother–daughter duo.

Kim has spent years immersed in the book world—from selling Usborne Children’s Books and helping run her kids’ Scholastic book fairs, to hosting an after-school kids’ book club (and now an adult one, too) and becoming a co-chair of the KCLS Foundation gala committee. Most of all, she’s a lifelong reader who loves sharing her favorite stories with others.

Gabby’s love of books started early, thanks to Kim. She’s an avid reader and an unpublished author who, even at her young age, has created personal relationships with published authors in the PNW. She’s a devoted library-goer, member of the KLCS Teen Advisory Board, and full-on book obsesser. She’s known for buying multiple copies of books she loves—and occasionally even ones she doesn’t. She’s gone so far as to travel to London to find her favorite book.

Together, Kim and Gabby decided it was time to turn their shared bookish dream into reality with Branches Booknook.
